Bring your favorite art materials and set aside time to nurture your creative spirit. Developing a regular art and mindfulness practice strengthens our capacity to meet our experiences with curiosity, openness, and care. Connect with your senses and imagination and develop trust in your creativity as a way to connect with, explore and respond to whatever is arising in your life.

To create a supportive space to connect with our creativity, participants refrain from commenting on each others art and writing (even in a positive way). This allows people to focus more deeply on their own process, to fully take in each others words and images, and creates a space where people feel comfortable experimenting and connecting with what is arising for them. No prior art or meditation experience is necessary to participate in this class.

Materials: For your first class, begin with cray-pas and/or watercolor paints and brushes, mixed media paper (size of your choice), and a journal and pen. You will also need a piece of scratch paper to warm up! If you don’t have these supplies, no worries! Use whatever you have at hand such as pastels, crayons, or markers. The main point is to make art!
