Patti Vick, MFA
As the founder of Color Wheel Mindfulness, my goal is to support you in connecting with and trusting your creative voice as a guiding source of wisdom and joy. I am passionate about creating space for communal art making and self-reflection. In community we support each other in personal growth, learn from each other’s stories, and weave a fabric of connection and healing.
For over a decade I have taught at Open Studio Project, a non-profit arts organization that promotes personal growth and community well-being. I have worked with many organizations including the Evanston Vet Center, Connections for the Homeless, Cancer Wellness Center, Trilogy Behavioral Healthcare, the YWCA women’s shelter, the Northern Trust, and Evanston Township High school. Additionally I have taught therapists and lay practitioners from around the world to use the Open Studio Process with their communities. I am authorized to teach awareness and compassion-based practices through the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP), a two year professional training program created by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. I received a BA in Anthropology at Colorado College and an MFA in Visual Communication from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
I welcome all bodies into this shared space—All genders, orientations, races, ages, religions, abilities, and economic backgrounds. I am a white, cisgender female and use the pronouns she/her.
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
