Wednesday night drop-in Mindful Art

Online, 6:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m. CST

$25/class suggested donation

Carve out time for self-expression and self-care in community. I will support you in connecting with your abundant natural creativity and wisdom. No prior art making or meditation experience necessary!

CREATIVITY RELEASES STRESS, CULTIVATES PERSONAL INSIGHTS and
CREATES CONNECTIONS WITH OTHERS. Plus it’s REALLY FUN!

A regular meditative art and writing practice creates space for us to pause, notice, and transform our feelings into colors, shapes and symbols on the page leading to relaxation and deepening awareness.

Playful and unplanned art making can help us understand ourselves. Susan Magsamen, author of Your Brain on Art shares psychotherapist Carl Jung’s theories saying “…the images that emerge when we spontaneously draw are the language of the unconscious, offering insights into our emotional states. These drawings are capable of “speaking” when our voice cannot, Jung found, and when it comes to anxiety and stress, working with imagery stored in our brain and connected to our somatic experience has profound results.” Images are a form of our wisest and caring selves coming to guide us.
